EGGY WEGGY · BOONTANG GAMES
Your game.
Your privacy.
How Eggy Weggy uses information, and the choices you have.
EGGY WEGGY PRIVACY POLICY
The short version
- Your puzzles, progress and settings are saved on your device. You do not need a game account.
- You can play the puzzles without watching adverts. If you choose an optional advert, Google may process information to provide it.
- We ask for an age range for advertising choices, rather than your birthday. Younger players and players whose age is unknown receive restrictive advertising settings.
- Problem reports and backup files are shared only when you take an action to share them.
For younger players: ask a parent or trusted adult before sending us a report or personal information. You can skip adverts and keep playing.
1. Who is responsible
Boontang Games is the trading name of Kenneth Burton, an independent developer based in the United Kingdom. Kenneth Burton is responsible for personal information processed by Boontang Games and is its data controller.
You can use this contact for privacy questions, support, or a request concerning your or your child's information.
2. Information on your device
Eggy Weggy stores information locally so that you can leave and return to the game. This includes:
- Your current puzzle, scores, stars, unlocked levels, challenges and rewards.
- Coins, power-ups, lives and refill times, along with records that prevent the same reward or transaction being applied twice.
- Sound, music, vibration, display, motion and control preferences.
- Your selected age range and advertising privacy settings.
- A rolling record of up to 300 recent attempts, including level, outcome, moves, score, stars, power-up use and when goals were completed in terms of moves. This helps explain difficulty or problems.
We do not automatically upload your puzzle saves or these play notes to a Boontang Games server. There are no game accounts, online chat, public leaderboards or automatic cloud saves in the reviewed version. The game does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or precise device location. Advertising services may infer a general location from your IP address.
3. Optional adverts
Eggy Weggy uses Google's Mobile Ads service, also known as AdMob, for optional rewarded adverts, and Google's User Messaging Platform for applicable privacy choices. An advert may offer extra lives, extra moves or a virtual prize. You choose whether to request one; normal puzzle play does not require an advert. Development builds use Google's test adverts. Live commercial advertising is not enabled in the reviewed build.
When an advertising or consent service is used, Google may process your IP address, device and app information, advert interactions such as views and taps, and diagnostic information about performance. For eligible adult requests, identifiers may include the Android advertising ID, app set ID or other identifiers supported by Google's service. The information available depends on the device, age treatment, privacy choices and service configuration.
Google uses advertising information to deliver and measure adverts, maintain its services and help prevent fraud. Adult advertising may be personalised where permitted and where the required choices allow it. Non-personalised adverts still involve some processing of information; they are not a promise that no data is collected.
The app does not request or preload adverts at startup. An explicit advertising action starts the age and privacy checks. Adult players can review applicable choices using Settings → Privacy → Advertising choices → Ad privacy choices. The native Privacy screen also offers Choose age range. You can decline optional adverts and continue playing. Android's settings provide controls to reset or delete an advertising ID where supported.
Read Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
4. Children and age choices
Eggy Weggy can be played by children and adults. You can start a puzzle without giving an age range. Before an optional advertising flow, or when opening the privacy controls, the app offers Under 13, 13–17, 18 or older, and Prefer not to say, with no answer preselected. It saves the range on the device and does not ask for an exact date of birth.
For under-18 and unknown-age profiles, the next-release implementation requests child-directed, non-personalised adverts with a general-audience content limit and disables publisher advertising personalisation. Adult consent forms are not presented to these profiles. These controls do not constitute parental consent. Earlier preview versions may disable adverts entirely for these groups.
New purchases remain unavailable to under-18 and unknown-age profiles. We do not use local puzzle records to build marketing profiles of children. A parent or guardian can contact us about information a child has sent, including a request to remove it. We may ask for the minimum information needed to identify the request and establish the person's authority.
5. Purchases
Real-money checkout is disabled in the reviewed development build. The app contains foundations for Google Play purchases, but this does not mean purchases are available. Coins and power-ups can be earned through play.
Before paid products are enabled, this policy will be updated to explain the actual purchase information processed, verification and recovery arrangements, relevant providers and retention. The reviewed build does not collect payment-card details.
6. Support and backup files
Problem reports
If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message and attachments. The game's Report a problem feature prepares your description, app version, current level and puzzle status, plus recent totals for that level. It excludes the full board, wallet, purchase details and game-account information.
A report is not sent automatically. Copy report puts it on your device clipboard. Open report on GitHub opens a link containing the prepared report text, so that text is sent to GitHub when the link opens, before you decide whether to submit an issue. GitHub may require an account and handles that account and access information under its own policy. Review the report and its audience before submitting; use the privacy email for private questions. Do not include passwords, payment details or other unnecessary personal information.
Backups you choose to create
Export backup creates a file using the location you select. It can include your current board, progress, preferences, coins and owned power-ups. Lives, advertising allowances and purchase or reward receipts stay on the device. Exporting does not automatically send a backup to Boontang Games.
If you choose a cloud-storage location or share a backup, that service processes the file under its own terms. Exported copies remain in the chosen location until you delete them. Android's file picker grants access to the particular file you select; the app does not need access to all your files.
7. Why information is used
Where UK data protection law applies, the relevant purposes and lawful bases are:
- Running the game and remembering choices: our legitimate interests in providing the game you request, saving your progress and applying appropriate privacy settings. We limit this processing to what is needed and balance those interests against your rights and, particularly, children's interests.
- Optional advertising and privacy choices: consent where required for advertising storage, access or personalisation. Where consent is required, it must be obtained before that processing. Age restrictions and applicable regional rules also apply.
- Support and security: our legitimate interests in answering questions, investigating faults, protecting the service and preventing duplicate rewards or abuse, balanced against your rights and, particularly, children's interests.
- Legal duties: processing necessary to meet an applicable legal obligation, for example responding to a valid legal request.
We do not sell your puzzle saves or local play notes. You do not have to send a support report, export a backup or watch an advert to play. Without local storage, however, the app cannot reliably keep your progress between sessions.
8. Service providers and international processing
Information may be handled by Google for advertising and privacy choices, GitHub if you open or submit a report, and Google's Gmail service to receive and manage support email. Android, the service you use to obtain the app, and any storage provider you choose for backups also have their own privacy practices. We may disclose relevant information where required by law, or where necessary and lawful to protect rights or security.
Google and GitHub operate internationally and may process information outside the United Kingdom. Their linked privacy notices explain their international processing and the safeguards they use, including applicable adequacy arrangements and contractual safeguards. You can contact us for information about any international transfer for which Boontang Games is responsible and how to obtain details of the applicable safeguards.
See GitHub's General Privacy Statement, alongside the Google notices linked above.
9. Keeping and deleting information
On your device: saves, settings and local transaction records remain until replaced through normal use or removed by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it. Recent play notes roll over after 300 attempts. Android automatic app backup is disabled in the reviewed build. Clearing data may permanently remove progress, coins, lives and local receipts; we cannot recover a cloud copy because the game has no cloud account.
Exported or shared files: delete these separately from wherever you saved or shared them. Clearing the app does not remove a backup in another location or a report already sent.
Support information held by us: we keep it for as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, resolve related faults or complaints, and meet any applicable legal duties. We then delete it or remove identifying details. The nature of the query, whether an issue remains open, and any legal retention requirement determine the period.
Information held by providers: Google, GitHub and other providers apply their own retention rules. Deleting local app data does not itself delete information already held by them.
10. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law and circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase personal information held about you, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy. Contact the privacy address above. Parents and guardians can also contact us about their child's information.
Your right to object: you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will consider the request in accordance with the applicable law. You can also withdraw consent where processing relies on it, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Use the advertising privacy controls for applicable ad choices, or contact us about consent given directly to Boontang Games.
We cannot remotely read or erase a save held only on your device. You can remove it through Android's app-storage controls, and separately delete exported backups. We may need limited information to locate a support record or verify a request; do not send your entire save unless it is needed.
You can complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office, or another data protection authority available to you. You do not have to contact us before raising a complaint.
11. Security
The app uses Android's application storage and limits the bundled puzzle screen's network and file access. Native advertising services operate separately; Google describes its advertising SDK connections as encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Protect your device and any backup files you export.
12. Changes and website privacy
We will update this policy when the game's information practices change, including before enabling materially different advertising, purchases, accounts or cloud saving. The published policy will state its effective or updated date. Where the law requires a new notice or consent, we will provide it before the relevant processing.
For the studio website itself, read the separate website privacy notice.
